Privacy Policy
Covers the Durga Elo website and the Durga Elo mobile app for Android and iOS · Last updated
The short version. Durga Elo has no accounts, no sign-ups and no profiles. We don't know who you are, we don't want to know, and there is nothing about you to sell — which is fortunate, because we wouldn't.
The mobile app collects even less than the website: no analytics, no cookies, no consent banner, because there is nothing to consent to.
What the website stores on your device

If you decline — or simply ignore the banner — no analytics cookies are ever written. That isn't a promise you have to take on trust: consent is set to denied before Google's code loads, so there is nothing to switch off afterwards.
The live visitor count
While the page is open, your browser holds a connection to our server so the counter can update. The server stores a random connection ID and nothing else — no IP address, no location, no identifier that could be traced back to you. When you close the tab, it disappears.
Analytics
If you accept cookies, we use Google Analytics to count visits. We look at totals — how many people came, which day, roughly which country. We do not use it for advertising, we have not enabled ad personalisation or Google Signals, and we do not attempt to identify individual visitors.
Google processes this data on its own terms, which you can read in the Google Privacy Policy. You can change your mind at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings, which will bring the banner back.
The mobile app
The Android and iOS apps are the same countdown and the same music, without the browser. They are not a wrapper around the website: there is no analytics library in either build, no cookies, and therefore no consent banner.

That is the entire list. The token is deliberately excluded from Android's cloud backup, so it does not travel to your Google account or onto a new phone. Uninstalling the app removes everything it has stored.
Permissions
The app asks for one permission: internet access. It does not request location, contacts, camera, microphone, photos or files, and it does not read your advertising identifier, device ID, phone number or any other hardware identifier. If your phone ever tells you otherwise, something is wrong and we would like to hear about it.
What we receive
Our server sees the ordinary things any web request carries — an IP address and the time of the request — which it uses to serve the response and does not store against your token or build into a profile. There is no crash reporting SDK and no usage analytics, which also means that if the app breaks for you, we will not know unless you tell us.
Music and the player
On the website and in the app alike, music plays through an embedded YouTube player. We use youtube-nocookie.com, YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode, which does not set tracking cookies until you actually play something. Once you press play, YouTube may store data under its own policy — that part is between you and YouTube, and is covered by the Google Privacy Policy. In the app the player runs inside the app itself; the same applies there, and nothing about what you play is reported back to us.
The Spotify link simply opens Spotify. Nothing is shared with them from here.
What we never do
- No accounts, no email addresses, no passwords — there is nothing to sign up for.
- No advertising, no ad networks, no retargeting pixels.
- No selling or sharing of data. There is no data to sell.
- No cross-site tracking, and no attempt to follow you anywhere else.
- No fingerprinting, and no profiles.
- No crash reporting, no usage analytics and no advertising identifier in the mobile app.
Children
The website and the app are suitable for all ages and collect no personal information from anyone, children included. Nothing in either is directed at children specifically, and neither contains advertising.
Your rights
Data protection law gives you rights to access, correct and erase personal data held about you. In our case there is a simpler answer: we hold none. Everything the website stores lives in your own browser, and clearing your browser data removes all of it. Everything the app stores lives on your phone, and uninstalling removes all of it. There is no account to close and no request to file, because there is nothing on our side to erase.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. There is no mailing list to notify, because there is no mailing list.
